An ESM Magazine article describes the EUDR as the EU's most stringent deforestation law to date, focused on seven commodities including soy and palm oil. From December 30, 2024, companies must prove deforestation-free status before placing products on the EU market or exporting them from it.
Due-diligence requirements may tighten EU supply of soy and palm oil from non-compliant origins, which could support premiums for verified-clean supply.
