The Thai baht opened at 34.28 per US dollar on December 28, its strongest level in five months. The move followed a weaker dollar and a fall in US 10-year yields from 3.89% to 3.8%, which lifted gold prices.
A stronger baht and softer dollar tend to support gold and make dollar-priced commodities cheaper for Thai buyers, a modest factor for feed import costs.
