The January 12, 2024 WASDE brought bearish surprises for corn and soybeans, with yields above the highest trade expectations and unexpected cuts to harvested acres. March corn fell from $4.55 to $4.4125 per bushel intraday before recovering to $4.48, with soybeans also sharply lower.
Yields above expectations and higher ending stocks shift the market toward demand, keeping feed grain and meal prices under pressure.
