Niti Aayog member Ramesh Chand says India's year-old ban on non-basmati white rice exports could be lifted given strong rains, larger plantings and comfortable stocks. Kharif rice sowing is up 14% year on year.
A lifted export ban would release Indian rice supply to the world market, which would be bearish for global rough rice prices.
