USDA's quarterly stocks report showed Sept. 1 corn stocks of 1.760 billion bushels, 84 million below pre-report estimates, and soybean stocks of 342 million bushels, slightly below expectations.
Wheat stocks came in at 1.986 billion bushels, 13 million above expectations.
A smaller-than-expected corn stockpile signals tighter old-crop supply and firmer feed grain prices, while the soybean shortfall supports the soy complex. Wheat's surplus is mildly bearish for feed wheat alternatives.
