USDA's Economic Research Service November Feed Outlook cut the 2024/25 U.S. corn yield to 183.1 bushels per acre, lowering production by 60 million bushels to 15.1 billion. Sorghum production rose, but total coarse grain supplies were reduced.
Corn supplies are still expected to exceed last year's by nearly 200 million bushels.
Lower corn yields tighten U.S. feed grain supplies, supporting corn and feed prices, though the carryover remains large relative to last year.
