The European Commission cut its 2024/25 EU common wheat forecast to 112.6 million tons from 114.6 million and lowered maize output to 58.0 million tons from 60.1 million. Both revisions reflect the weather-hit crops in the bloc.
Lower EU wheat and maize supplies raise import demand and support world feed grain prices. The cuts add to the pressure from a poor French and German harvest.
