Ukrainian sunflower prices (50% oil) rose 200-300 UAH/t to 25,800-26,300 UAH/t in the week as producers held back sales. In its December report, USDA unexpectedly raised its 2024/25 world sunflower production forecast by 0.07 to 50.512 million tonnes, with Ukraine up 0.4 million tonnes and Russia up 0.3 million.
A higher USDA crop estimate adds supply pressure on sunflower values, though tight Ukrainian farm supplies are holding prices up in the near term.
