The USDA paused Mexican live cattle imports after screwworm was detected in Mexico, and industry groups are developing a pre-clearance inspection program to resume trade. The USDA cut its 2025 US beef production forecast by about 20 million pounds and expects steer prices to rise $3 from last month's forecast.
