Crude oil fell on January 23 after Trump urged Saudi Arabia and OPEC to cut prices, which he linked to ending the war in Ukraine. US crude closed down 82 cents at $74.62, and Brent fell 71 cents to $78.29.
Presidential pressure on OPEC and the Saudis to cut prices lowers expected energy costs for feed mills. Any OPEC response or Russia-related sanctions could reverse the move.
