Wheat prices fell 1.8-2.2% at the start of the week as rain fell on winter wheat areas in the U.S., Ukraine and Russia, with more rain forecast. Chicago, Kansas City, Minneapolis and Paris May futures all declined, and Ukrainian export prices dropped by $6-8/ton.
Improved moisture reduces drought risk for winter wheat, which pressures futures and export quotes. Russian prices are supported by Turkish import-duty changes.
