The Australian dollar hit a fresh six-month high near 0.6537 as the US dollar weakened on concerns about the US fiscal deficit. Traders also pointed to optimism over a 90-day US-China trade truce, while the RBA signalled it could cut rates again.
A stronger AUD and weaker USD make US commodities relatively more expensive for Australian buyers and can support US dollar-denominated grain and meal prices. The move is modest for feed markets.
