Brazil's real gained 0.6% to 5.68 per dollar on Friday after the government rolled back parts of the surprise IOF tax increase. The currency was still set for a weekly loss as investor confidence stayed weak.
The reversal eases capital-flight fears, which supports the real and lowers the dollar cost of Brazilian feed exports. Fiscal doubts keep the currency sensitive to further policy shifts.
