The Australian dollar slipped to new July lows near 0.6450 as the US added 104,000 jobs in July, above forecasts, and Q2 GDP grew 3%. Traders also positioned ahead of the Fed decision, which was expected to hold rates.
Strong US data supports the dollar and keeps Fed rates high, which tends to weigh on dollar-priced commodities and tightens financing for importers.
