The IEA's quarterly Gas Market Report forecasts global gas demand growth slowing to about 1.3% in 2025 and accelerating to about 2% in 2026. LNG supply is expected to rise 7%, or 40 bcm, in 2026 as projects in the US, Canada and Qatar come online.
A large LNG supply increase in 2026 should loosen global gas balances and ease price pressure, while demand growth in Asia may support LNG prices.
