China plans to reimpose export restrictions on specialty fertilisers from October through tighter inspections and consignment delays, after a temporary resumption of exports. The Soluble Fertilizer Industry Association says the curbs will apply to the whole world market, not only India.
Renewed Chinese export controls would cut a significant supply source for phosphate and specialty fertilizers just as Indian demand peaks. This is likely to support fertilizer prices into the fourth quarter.
