The dollar was on track for a second straight weekly gain against major currencies after US consumer spending rose 0.6% in August and the PCE price index matched forecasts. Strong US data reduced market pricing for Fed rate cuts and lifted the dollar, which traded near 149.65 yen.
A firmer dollar on reduced Fed easing expectations makes US-priced grains and oilseeds more expensive for non-dollar buyers, which can weigh on export demand.
