ABARES' September 2025 Australian Crop Report raised the national winter crop forecast 2% year on year to 62Mt, the third-largest on record. The report revised production up 12% from June, with wheat forecast to fall 1% to 33.8Mt and barley rising 10% to 14.6Mt.
Canola is forecast at 6.4Mt, with improvements in WA, SA and Victoria.
Higher barley and canola output increases Australian export availability, which weighs on global feed-grain and meal prices. The slight wheat decline offers limited support.
