The WMO Global Seasonal Climate Update for October–December 2025, dated September 22, 2025, describes weak La Niña-like conditions in the Pacific during June–August and forecasts a potential weak La Niña for October–December. It also projects a negative Indian Ocean Dipole and above-average temperatures across many regions.
A forecast weak La Niña and negative IOD increase the chance of dry weather in parts of South America and Australia, a modest bullish factor for soy, corn and wheat.
