Western Australia's oat crop is forecast at 857,500 tonnes from over 400,000 hectares, well above last year's 665,000 tonnes. WA oat prices have eased to about A$300 per tonne from over A$400 in prior years, making Australian oats more competitive in Asia.
A larger Australian crop and lower prices add export supply that could draw Asian oat milk and milling demand away from Russian oats, pressuring oat values.
