USDA's September Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Outlook raised its forecasts for dairy cow numbers, milk per cow, and total milk production in both 2025 and 2026. Projected output is 230.0 billion pounds in 2025 and 231.3 billion in 2026.
Class III and IV price forecasts were cut as a result.
A larger US milk supply forecast with lower Class III and IV prices points to weaker dairy commodity values and softer milk prices for feed buyers.
