The Australian Crop Report for December 2025 from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry says national winter crop production is on track to reach 66.3 million tonnes. That would be the second-largest winter crop on record.
The figure is based on ABARES' December estimates.
A near-record Australian winter crop adds to abundant global wheat supply and pressures export prices. Barley and canola are the crops most exposed to the stronger outlook.
