Indonesia's December palm oil exports reached 2.62 million tonnes, an 18-month high, according to Intertek data. The jump was led by India and the subcontinent, helped by lower export taxes that improved palm's competitiveness.
Strong Indonesian shipments, especially to India, tighten palm supply and support prices, while lower export taxes make palm more competitive against rival oils.
