A 48-hour nationwide maritime strike led by FESIMAF on February 18 brought most Argentine ports close to a standstill. The action reportedly shut 17 grain terminals in the San Lorenzo-Timbúes corridor, and Buenos Aires terminals also halted operations.
It coincided with a CGT general strike against Milei's labor reform.
Grain and oilseed export delays from Argentina tighten near-term meal and oil supplies and can lift benchmark prices. The disruption was short, so the price effect is likely limited to the strike period.
