India's government approved exports of 2.5 million tonnes of wheat and an additional 0.5 million tonnes of wheat products. The government said private wheat stocks are about 7.5 million tonnes, roughly 3.2 million higher than a year earlier, and central pool stocks are projected at about 18.2 million tonnes on April 1.
Lifting a four-year export ban adds Indian wheat to world supply, which is bearish for global wheat prices. Feed buyers may see slightly softer wheat values, though the volume is modest against world trade.
