Natural gas and LNG prices rose sharply on March 3 after Qatar paused LNG production following Iranian drone strikes on its Ras Laffan and Mesaieed industrial sites. Dutch TTF futures jumped 35% in a single session to above 60 euros per MWh.
Qatar supplies about a fifth of global LNG, so the halt tightens supply to Europe and Asia and raises gas-based power and fertilizer costs.
