The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar on May 29 after reports of a 60-day US-Iran truce, which pushed Brent crude down 1.04% to US$93.31 per barrel. US PCE inflation rose to 3.8% in April and the Dollar Index fell 0.21%.
Lower crude prices reduce biofuel and energy-linked support for vegetable oils and corn, while a firmer ringgit can pressure Malaysian palm oil prices in ringgit terms.
