AHDB trimmed its UK end-season wheat and barley stock estimates, with wheat at 1.919 Mt (down 235 Kt from March) and barley at 1.266 Mt (down 47 Kt). The cuts reflect stronger bioethanol and starch demand for wheat and higher on-farm feed use for barley.
Tighter UK carryover stocks support feed grain prices and widen the need for imports. Stronger bioethanol demand for wheat also competes with feed use.
