OPEC+ approves fourth oil output quota hike since Hormuz closure

OPEC+ agreed on June 7, 2026 to a fourth monthly output target increase, of 188,000 bpd for July, even as the US-Iran war keeps several members from pumping more. Output averaged 33.19 million bpd in April versus 42.77 million in February, according to OPEC figures.

The UAE's exit from OPEC was cited as adding to the group's difficulties.

重要性

Lower Gulf exports keep crude supply tight, which supports energy costs that flow into feed transport and fertilizer. The quota hike itself does little to change that balance.
