An IFA Global Markets Conference summary says geopolitical and logistics risks have become structural for fertiliser markets. Argus estimates the Middle East supplies about 50% of global sulfur exports and over 30% of urea exports, and about 5.5 Mt of urea output was disrupted during the conflict.
Structural disruption to Gulf urea and sulfur supply keeps nitrogen and phosphate prices elevated and raises the risk premium on fertiliser imports.
