The rupee settled 0.35% higher at 95.41 per dollar on August 25, the best-performing Asian currency that day, after RBI dollar sales and a sharp fall in crude. Brent fell below $89.64 a barrel amid signs of progress in US-Iran peace talks, and the 10-year bond yield eased to 6.85%.
Falling crude and RBI intervention reduce India's import costs and support the rupee, which eases the local cost of dollar-priced feed imports.
