Brent and WTI crude traded slightly higher on 25 August after the US Treasury announced new sanctions on 60 individuals, entities and vessels linked to Iran. Officials did not name the targeted countries or the timing of penalties.
Sanctions on Iranian oil raise the risk of supply disruption, which can lift energy costs and feed through to freight and fuel inputs for feed producers, though markets appeared largely unfazed.
