The won rebounded to around 1,350 per dollar on September 23 after falling oil prices and hopes for easing US-Iran tensions. Earlier in the month it had reached 1,336 and then hovered near 1,380 under high oil prices and foreign rate hikes.
Lower oil prices reduce Korea's energy import bill and ease pressure on the won, which marginally lowers the local cost of imported feed ingredients.
