Soybean and soymeal futures rose after renewed Russia-Ukraine drone attacks halted operations at three major Russian Black Sea grain terminals. Other drivers included the decline in US crop conditions, Chinese buying and El Niño expectations.
Dalian soymeal futures followed CBOT soybeans higher, while spot basis stayed weak.
Lost Black Sea export capacity lifts global demand for other oilseeds and grains, and the decline in US crop ratings adds to upside. Weak spot basis suggests the rally may face correction risk.
