AEB's September supply commentary says the US layer flock is estimated at 336-343 million, about 4 million below its prior estimate, with some producers restocking after first-quarter HPAI losses. July shell egg exports reached 320 million eggs, the strongest month since 2023.
Ample layer supply and a rebuilding flock keep wholesale egg prices under pressure, while strong exports absorb some surplus. Feed buyers should expect soft layer-feed demand if flock growth resumes.
