Sen. John Boozman, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, says additional farm aid may be warranted and could be funded by shifting dollars from the $11 billion rescission bill.
He says President Trump supports the idea and would help push it through Congress after the election.
Political support for more aid could cushion farm margins and keep acreage and feed demand steady. The effect on commodity prices is limited because the timing and size of the aid remain uncertain.
