South Korea's agriculture ministry will run a five-month special disinfection campaign from October to February to curb animal diseases. Bird flu cases in migratory birds rose 14.7% on-year to 3,364 in the first eight months of the year.
The campaign also covers African Swine Fever and foot-and-mouth disease, which reappeared in May after more than four years.
Heightened disease controls and possible culling in a major feed importing market add uncertainty to Korean livestock and poultry demand, a modest bearish signal for feed demand.
