FAO reported 645 new HPAI outbreaks in animals across five regions since its previous update, mostly H5N1. It also noted 3 new low-pathogenicity events and 7 new human cases of zoonotic avian influenza.
The update covers global avian influenza with zoonotic potential.
A high count of HPAI outbreaks reduces poultry supply and can trigger import restrictions, which tends to support chicken prices. As a routine situation update, it adds little new information beyond the ongoing wave.
