Indonesia will require palm oil exporters to obtain export permits from the Trade Ministry starting January 24, 2022. The move is aimed at controlling soaring domestic cooking oil prices.
Export permits give authorities a way to restrict overseas shipments, cutting available supply to world markets and supporting palm oil prices.
