Indonesia reduced the export multiplier ratio for palm oil from 1:8 to 1:6 starting January 1, 2023, to boost domestic supply ahead of Ramadan and Eid. The Indonesian Palm Oil Association supports the measure but asks for frequent review given expected declines in first-quarter production.
Tighter export volume requirements restrict Indonesian palm oil exports, supporting global palm oil prices and tightening vegetable oil supply.
