Indonesia's biodiesel mandate saved about Rp122 trillion in foreign exchange in 2023 and cut emissions. APKASINDO warned that moving from B40 to B50 would leave a CPO supply deficit of about 1.24 million tons.
Higher blending mandates would divert significant palm oil into biodiesel, tightening domestic supply for food and export. That supports palm oil prices and raises the risk of export restrictions.
