Finland cut its 2022 and 2023 biofuel blending mandate by 7.5 percentage points to 12%, the largest such cut in the EU so far. The move follows a European Commission statement allowing member states to relax mandates to ease land-use pressure, and other states such as Hungary are reviewing their obligations.
Weaker EU blending mandates reduce expected biofuel feedstock demand for vegetable oils and could pressure vegetable oil prices if other member states follow.
