Stillwater Associates reports that imports now supply roughly 30% of US lipid biofuel feedstocks, up sharply since 2022 as the BBD RVO ramped up. It notes both the US and Europe are seeking to restrict imports that their biodiesel sectors rely on, with California LCFS driving demand for UCO, animal fats and distillers corn oil.
Planned import restrictions could tighten feedstock supply and lift tallow, UCO and vegetable oil prices, raising costs for oil-based feed ingredients.
