China imported no soybeans from the US in September, the first zero month since November 2018, down from 1.7 million tons a year earlier. Brazil supplied 85.2% of China's imports as South American shipments surged, with tariffs and depleted old-crop US supplies cited as reasons.
Zero Chinese imports from the US reflect lost export demand, pressuring US soybean prices while Brazil gains market share and supplies ample export availability.
