Kyiv says EU transport subsidies will help Ukrainian grain move through alternative routes after Russia withdrew from the UN-backed grain deal the previous month. Ukraine has been relying on river ports and railways for exports.
Subsidised overland and river routes can keep Ukrainian grain flowing to EU and world buyers, limiting upward pressure on wheat and corn prices.
