Ukrainian agribusiness IMC cut corn exports sharply, shipping 63.5 thousand tonnes in December, almost half the prior-year figure, and 30 thousand tonnes in the first two weeks of January versus nearly 50 thousand a year earlier. The company cites Russian attacks on deep-sea ports and costlier alternatives such as rail, which has risen about 40%.
Higher alternative-route costs and reduced port capacity tighten Ukrainian corn export availability, supporting Black Sea corn prices and freight.
