Argentine farmers are planting the smallest soybean area in 15 years, with soybean hectares falling while Brazil's expand. Export taxes of 33% on soybeans and 31% on meal and oil, compared with 12% on corn, make soybeans less profitable than corn.
Political uncertainty over future export measures also weighs on planting decisions.
