La Nina is forecast to bring little rain to Argentina's Pampas growing region in January and February, when soybean and corn are developing. The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange report says March will be wetter, but large pockets of drought will persist.
Dry summer conditions during the critical pod-filling and grain-fill period would cut Argentine soybean and corn yields, reducing export supply of soybean meal and oil. That supports higher prices for these products.
