The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service forecasts Argentina's 2024/25 soybean crop at 49 million tonnes, unchanged from the prior year, after rainfall since early February improved conditions. Yield losses of 80% to 90% are expected in second-crop soybeans in northern and southern Buenos Aires province, and 34% of the crop is rated poor.
A stabilized Argentine crop eases fears of a severe shortfall, limiting upside in soybean and meal prices. Losses in second-crop areas and poor ratings still leave some risk to supply.
