Central Brazil producers are planting soybeans far ahead of schedule after early-season rains, with Mato Grosso planting at 15% by October 3 versus a five-year average of about 6%. Dry weather since then has allowed progress to continue, but the crop is at risk if rains do not arrive quickly.
Fast planting shortens the window for double-cropping safrinha corn, and any delay in rain could cut soybean yields, supporting soybean and meal prices.
